Salsa is an extremely popular form of energetic, vibrant, fun and sociable dance with people all over the world enjoying it. Normally salsa is a partner dance, although this doesn’t need to put you off if you don’t have a dance partner to go with. Often in salsa dance lessons you will swap dance partners with others in the group and there are also recognised solo forms that involve multiple couples exchanging partners.

Salsa is known for the swinging hip movements of dancers. When participating in salsa dancing virtually all the movement takes place in your lower body, so as well as being an effective form of cardio, the movements being concentrated in the lower body make it a great workout for your core, hips, legs and glutes.
