Arabic is considered one of the hardest languages for English speakers to learn, so finding a professional Arabic language tutor to teach you is almost certainly the way to go if you’re considering taking it up.

Don’t let the difficult nature of learning Arabic put you off, but make sure you’re fully committed to learning the language and that it’s not a decision you’ve made spontaneously without understanding the task ahead. If you want to find Arabic lessons near you then we can help.

Some of the many aspects that make Arabic so difficult to learn if it’s not your native language include:

  • Regional variations – there are a number of regional variations of Arabic and you may have to focus on just one to start with
  • Spoken sounds – many of the sounds when speaking Arabic are not familiar to other countries, so are difficult to replicate naturally
  • Alphabet – Arabic speaking countries do not use the 26 letter Latin Alphabet, but instead have an alphabet that consists of 28 ‘script’ letters
  • Reading and writing – when written, Arabic goes from right to left rather than left to right, so it takes some time for the brain to become accustomed to this new method when both reading and writing
